The Hills to VaHi

There are so many hills in Atlanta (including a lot that are probably more hillier than the ones I’ll be covering in this post). But today, I’m going to cover my “go-to hills” when I am running and want to kick it up a notch.

Peachtree Dry Run

The past few weekends some of the local running groups collaborated to organize a group run known as the “Peachtree Dry Run”. The concept was pretty straightforward; it simply involved running the Peachtree Road Race course.

Run The River

For those of you in the Gwinnett area, there is a quaint little office park that is awesome to get in a run. The route is in the shape of a horse shoe and covers 3.1 miles – great for 5K training. It has a little bit of everything from steep inclines, flat areas and downhills.

Windward Wonders

For those of you that live near Windward Parkway in Alpharetta (OTP), you have quite a gem when it comes to places to run. Windward Parkway is located off Exit 11 on GA 400 in Alpharetta. It stretches from McGinnis Ferry to Highway 9, and into residential areas where the name of the road changes On weekday mornings and early on the weekends, there is little traffic, making the area a great place to get in a good run.

Taste of Eclectic City Neighborhoods

Instead of highlighting routes around Piedmont Park like I have been, I’m going to focus on the surrounding areas of the Spring Has Sprung 8K & 15K course. In fact, there’s so much to cover that I will only be able to talk about bits and pieces of the surrounding areas for this post!
