Rising to the Challenge

If you looked up the definition of a dedicated runner in the dictionary, there’s a good chance that you would find Jon Obst’s name. Obst, an Atlanta Track Club member and avid runner, has been involved with the sport since he was six years old. He runs everything from 5Ks to 100-milers. But the trail of life has not always been an epic celebration for Jon. At the age of 19, Obst was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. This is a life-changing discovery, but for a runner, can seem like an insurmountable threat to one of the most important things in life- running.
