People often ask me how I manage to force myself out the door in the pre-dawn hours, when the temperature is well below 40 degrees, even below 30 degrees. The truth is, I love running when the temperature drops. The key is to dress appropriately for the weather.
What inspired you to start running? Was it an inner motivation, a best friend or a family member? Last week we asked our fans on Facebook whether or not they were inspired by their parents to run- and it was evident- dads played a profound role in several of our community members health and fitness endeavors.

Do you remember the first time you laced up your running shoes? It was scary, right? People who have never run before tend to think that runners are only lean, mean running machines.
If you looked up the definition of a dedicated runner in the dictionary, there’s a good chance that you would find Jon Obst’s name. Obst, an Atlanta Track Club member and avid runner, has been involved with the sport since he was six years old. He runs everything from 5Ks to 100-milers. But the trail of life has not always been an epic celebration for Jon. At the age of 19, Obst was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. This is a life-changing discovery, but for a runner, can seem like an insurmountable threat to one of the most important things in life- running.
